Google Play Store's New Anti-Spam System removes Millions of Fake Reviews and Bad Apps

Google has introduced an anti-spam system that will detect reviews and ratings generated by the owner following unethical means.  This new system will definitely help the online tech-giant cleanup space occupied by fake systems and apps.  The new anti-spam system will assess the reviews and detect the fake ones. The recent research done by Google noted that the system helped them detect millions of fake reviews and rating from Google’s Play Store.

By unethical practices we mean, paid reviews and ratings often leading to a flood of reviews and ratings as well. There are so many app developers running marketing campaigns and offering money for good ratings and reviews. This helps them to grow their business and hence, the end user gets trapped in the vicious circle laid by the owner. Google Play store’s new anti-spam system recognizes such kinds of fake reviews and ratings. It will check a sudden increase or decrease of ratings of apps.

Google further added that they will not only depend on the machine to detect fake developers but in 2018, their Trust & Safety team deployed a system which combined human intelligence with machine learning to find out fake reviews and ratings violating rules and regulations set by the tech-giant.

Now the US tech giant has requested developers not to buy fake reviews and ratings in any way. No in-app purchases are encouraged to secure your site. The company will continue introducing systems to detect fake reviews and rating but it requests users not to use such practices to gain business.
