Apple is one of the market leaders when it comes to checking its ranking in the Electronics and Digital Communication Industry. The company has left no stone unturned to lead in the AI race. As a part of its latest inventions and acquisitions, the renowned iPhone making company has acquired a San Francisco-based Artificial Intelligence startup Pullstring also called ToyTalk. This startup company helps major companies in designing and publishing voice-assisted apps leveraging already existing assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant.
According to the reports from the close sources, this acquisition will help Apple's personal assistant Siri beat Amazon's Alexa and Google Assistant. It seems that the startup will offer tools to voice developers who are interested in integrating services into Apple’s cloud. Though no official confirmation has been given by the company so far, the acquisition will prove beneficial for both.
Pullstring was founded by former executives of Pixar in 2011 and was basically started to extend power to interactive voice apps mainly for toys like Hello Barbie and Thomas The Tank Engine toys in-line with Mattel. Within a very short time, the company has grown to $44 million.
This startup company broadened its services with the launch of IoT-enabled gadgets including Amazon Echo and Google Assistant. Further reports state that the deal value is somewhere around $30 million and $10 million for management including CEO Oren Jacob, who was a former Pixar's CTO.
This acquisition will help Apple in introducing speech-activated lines of toys. Though some rumored news of the deal confirmation has been received by some people, no official confirmation has been made so far.
