Yesterday, Google said that it will launch Radio-style, on-demand news feed on smart speakers that will be personalized using Artificial intelligence technology.
The online technology giant stated that just like smartphone news feed, the company has done the partnerships with more channels to deliver news feed in the same way.
According to Liz Gannes, Product Manager at Google, this latest addition will create an audio news playlist in order to give one of the best experiences to the users. He further added that Radio-style, on-demand update will first brief out the news and update you on the running topics and later on, the long-form of the news briefed earlier can be heard by the user.
Google Assistant, the Artificial Intelligence program introduced by the company, will look after the news feed and allow users to skip any story, play again, or stop the running story. The main aim of this project is to give users the Netflix-like experience that will bring on-demand audio news for the listener.
Gannes mentioned that radio-style is one of the long-lived styles of transferring news that fits people of all ages. All you need to do is to turn on the Radio and it will play your favorite channel on-time. Now instead of radio, users will have something that will be available on-demand and available throughout the day, bringing audio news from the world.
This new project is the result of Google's already existing efforts to add audio news feed feature over its speakers and smartphones. This is perhaps a broader effort taken by the news organizations and technology firms to provide better voice services to the customers. Initially, this feature will be limited only to people using the Google Assistant in the United States (in English) only and later on, it will be launched in other countries as well.
